Introduction

Greetings from the Pacific Northwest (Washington State).
New to the forum but familiar on other forums. I never knew this one existed until a fellow forum member recommended this one to me about a helmet question.
My interests are in world military history. Not much of a collector but I do own some helmets from family and friends.
Definitely not any type of expert.

M42 ckl 68 two tone “poor man’s camo”

Picked this recently due to it being a "one look" original, was reasonably priced & it’s a size 68, my favorite size. Liner is a dog…lot’s of wartime wear, no post war abuse. I replaced the strap with a pigskin that matched pretty good. The original strap was broken.
Just a plain brick red & ordnance green that’s pretty subdued..not too exciting indoors, but she comes to life out in the sunlight.
Of course…pic of my new pooch !!

NSDAP Kampbinde BeVo style

Hi everyone

I would like to show you this early BeVo NSDAP armband that I recently purchased. It is in really good condition, close to mint. Retains original red color.

It is my understanding these armbands were introduced in the middle 1920’s and it were largely phased out by 1930. Could anyone confirm this?

I hope you like it as much as I do!

British Army - Scots Guards. Colour Sgts, Sgts and Musicians cap badge

Sorting through my box of "bits that don’t quite fit elswhere" badges I camw accross this one;

It is a Scots Guards cap badge for Colour Sgts, Sgts and musicians worn on the FS cap and the paggri in tropical dress.

I am not totally sure of the period as I picked it up in the late ’70s with no provenance but I believe it to be WWI or earlier.

It is not marked in any way but the white metal displays all the characteristics of silver. The cenre boss which is renoveable is brass / gilding metal.

It differes from the Warrant Officers badge which was all silver and the Commissioned Officers badge which was also silver but the star was a slightly different shape.

It doesn’t show in the picture but there is a green background to the thistle.

Mark

Welsh officers SD cap

an unusual find for me, an officers SD cap from a supplier in Swansea who were at one time a well known department store though I did not know they were also military outfitters, but during the war all such places probably did this.

It was in a very dirty state when I got it but a wipe down has cleaned it up very well. It has an officers chinstrap and GS buttons and from the widely spaced badge holes it was probably for the RA.
