Need help! Opinions Wanted on Calgary Highlanders Flashed MK II

Hello everyone,

I was hoping for your expert opinions on a Calgary Highlanders MK II that I have currently have reserved. The dealer has allowed me to check the helmet out first and if it is not to my liking it will no longer be reserved, so to be clear I have not committed to buying this piece, I am however, seeking expert opinions on this one as it is slightly different than all the other Calgary Highlanders Flashed Helmets I have personally seen. The pattern on this helmet has a red center and corner squares instead of the more/most commonly seen white center and corner dicing flash, due to the Calgary’s affiliation with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Perhaps there was two flashes that they used, the red center and the white center? I’m not sure… Or perhaps soldier done, or maybe even a period non-regulation "mistake"? The shell itself looks good, even the flash in my opinion, but again I am not an expert on these and would appreciate any help that could be given on this helmet, and my many thanks in advance. I’ve dealt before with the dealer and trust him, however I just wanted to run it by the forum before I continue with anything. Again many thanks in advance…

Need help! Lot of Post-War M1 Helmets

I recently purchased these 6 M1 helmet shells. They’re all rear seams so I’m assuming they’re all post WW2. I’m not an expert in these helmets but I’m assuming most of them are Vietnam era, with maybe some being Korean era? All but 1 helmet has visible stamping on the inside, is there any website or book that could help me use these numbers to track the helmet to the era it was produced? Also, does anyone have any ideas on why there’s a large strip of white material stuck on the reverse of one of the helmets? Thanks cool militaria
