for sale Camo Fallschirmjager Helmet

by: warbuff

Description: Up for sale is a nice single decal Fallschirmjager Helmet. The Helmet shell itself is completely original, however the liner components are reproductions. At some point in time the helmet was repainted in a tropical pinkish-tan color, however the original decal still remains visible. The inside of the helmet, under the liner, remains the factory original paint. The helmet is marked ET68 and lot numbered 5029. This is a great beginner helmet for someone who does not have thousands of dollars to spend. I have included a link to the thread where the helmet was discussed, as well as the opinion of Ken N. from Germanhelmetsinc. Overall it is a great original helmet. Try and find another one for this price.

“Hello Andrew:

In my opinion; The paint is very “iffy”. Obviously there are two layers of tan paint in different shades. Could be period but the decal is definitely been liberated or dug-out from beneath the tan paint and quite crudely at that.

The liner is a medium quality reproduction and the straps are poor quality reproductions.

Regards, Ken”

Chained SS Dagger

Hello,

I have been contacted by a seller whose chained SS Dagger Picture Below is up for sale. This dagger was from his father’s collection and has been stored well for over 30+ years. He is looking to sell it and as we know they don’t go cheap. I have studied the threads here and admittedly have held only 2 of these beauties in my hands over the years. It is a purchase I will likely need to have time to consider & look it over in person in detail. I wanted to run it past my dagger and collection peers here on WRF. Open to any and all opinions as I consider it.

Mauser C96 Should Stock and Harness Help Please

What are you thoughts on this should stock and harness set? I think the harness is clearly a reproduction item, not sure about the cleaning rod. I think the should stock is good but would like some help since the harness is repro. I would also like a price check for a C96, small ring hammer, matching numbers 60% condition, bore is good, grips are serrated with some small chips. The comparisons that I found were for ones in much better condition. There is also another C96 is rougher condition and a bag of C96 parts in rough condition. I was thinking $1500.00 for all the items including the shoulder stock and harness, but is that too high? I do not have pics of the gun, only saw in person. All opinions are appreciated.

GDR Leistungsabzeichen & Urkunde

Another recent acquisition was this ‘Performance’ badge (Leistungsabzeichen) with ‘Urkunde’ awarded to Oberwachtmeister Winfried Nicol in June 1965. The rank of ‘Oberwachtmeister’ - a throwback to the TR period, was discontinued by the NVA in 1970. This pattern of badge was in use from 1960 up to 1983, the earliest patterns carried a serial number on the reverse and the fastener was of a different type. The last pattern of badge - in use from 1983 to the disbandment of the GDR military, had a raised oval disc on the back and the fastener was also changed from the 1960 to 1983 type.
