1937 Sam Browne belt markings

Hello all. I purchased a couple of Sam Browne belts recently and came across this mark on one of them. It’s clearly 1937 but what does the ‘M’ stand for? Size Medium? Also the CD or GD before the 1937? Are these makers marks for a specific factory? I’m aware many other countries used these in their military, so I wonder if this is British.

Any thoughts or opinions welcome.

Thank you

Al

The one that got away!

Hello all,

spotted this early fixed bale, front-seam M1 on gumtree on Monday and spent the past two days trying to purchase it from the seller who wasn’t happy about posting it. I was even considering the 170 mile drive when he messaged me late last night to say he’d sold it. Gutted. You win some, you lose some I guess.

Anyway, what do people think? I know it’s salty but is that a Hawley liner and a feint ‘follow me’ stripe on the rear? These are the only pictures he had. Hope someone on here got it.

Cheers, Ian

Question Vietnam war era poncho?

Hey Guys - is it possible that this US poncho liner was made during the Vietnam war? The code is "DSA" (Defense Supply Agency) DSA 100 68 C 2726 (I think if it’s DSA, it could be NAM era since it was changed to "DLA" after the war.)
The seller thinks it was made in the late 1980s, and basically the price is cheap accordingly (around 15 USD).
Also, the camo pattern is "woodland" if I’m correct?

Cheers,
Fabe
