Railroad eagles - an appeal

Hello all,

as most of the railroad eagles are to be found in collections in the northern Americas I wonder if any of you ever have seen this magnificent bird as a colored DECAL, having the size of 60.0 cm or larger. They did exist!

Please inform me if knowing of such an eagle. Send a private message or email to: hashi.saris@gmail.com
It would be great to show and include one of such eagles in a - for now - pending booklet about railroad eagles, later published at Bender’s.

Thanks in advance for any kind of help,
best regards from the Netherlands,
Wilhelm Saris

Feuerwehr armband and associated documents… with a difference!!

I picked up these few items this week, perhaps not what you were expecting. The armband is only the 2nd or 3rd I have ever seen. I have one other in my collection but its much more worn than this one. Undoubtedely the men were issued with more than one during the Occupation and this one never saw the light of day from then till now. the associated documents are also quite hard to find and I am really pleased to have them for my collection. Where you see 2 items on the page, the top one is a scanned copy so the original does not have to be removed if someone wants to see whats on the other side. The Feldkommandantur 515 curfew pass is actually signed by Baron Max Von Aufsess who Kommandant of the Island for a time.
So do not give up hope such little gems do appear every now and again, we all hopefully get a turn in finding something for our collections.
All the best,
from Jersey.
D.

Need help! Some small finds for today.

Attachment 341380Attachment 341381Attachment 341382Attachment 341383Attachment 341384Attachment 341385Attachment 341386Greetings,

Found this helmet today and was a little puzzeled on the specifics. It looks to be civil defense of some sort but matches nothing I have or could find on the net. Perhaps early civil defense. The pictures should say everything. There are no markings to be found. There seems to be one faded ink stamp, under the leather, that reminds me of Czech or russian but its not readable. There are no holes or rivets and the color is OD instead of traditional white. If someone has info, please lead me to other pictures of similar pieces. I was hopeing that it was a Leningrad pan factory helmet but there seems to be one picture on the internet of a LPF helmet and they dont match. If anyone has a REAL picture of a LPF helmet, please share. Right now, I think of Leningrad pan factory helmets the same as I do unicorns and the Easter bunny.

The other red pieces I am not positive about yet. I believe they are British or French collar tabs but I am not sure. The others are just US WW2 collar discs. Thanks for any info.

FG.

WWII m38 naval practice bomb

I have found a practice bomb on craigslist and was wondering a few things, are these common, what is the value, what can I do with it (lik turning it into a showcase), and how heavy it is dry.

Need help! Italian M33 Helmet

I just got this M33 helmet. It is not the helmet i actually bought but it’s in nice condition, so i am considering keeping it anyway. I would really appreciate any info on it. So far i have been told it’s post war because of the canvas chin strap. Is this a definite indicator of a post war helmet? It sure looks like it could have seen combat.

Thank you for helping out cool militaria

Regards, Lars
