Gday, I finally took some photos of my first aussie lid in response to Micks thread. It is has the name Alder on the underside but no service number unfortunately. The chinstrap lugs are mark III and undated . I cannot see any other stamping. The size is 7 1/2
Im not sure if this is a mkII or mkIII helmet maybe sombody can enlighten me.
Also the net was added by me for display

1941 Royal Australian Navy issued MkII,evident by the Navy Grey finish to the underside and even the Chinstrap Buckle.
The outer has been painted Black and stencilled with the letters SP,(front and back) which could be RAN Service Police or Stretcher Party.
There is a very faint CM with broardarrow stamped on the chin strap and by the amount of surface rust inside,it has seen plenty of Salt Water :rolleyes:
Commonwealth Steel made with a Dunlop Liner as per usual.

Help looking for info on this flag , It was in a estate that i bought . Any info would be a big help Im doing some spring cleaning and when i list it for sale i want to be as accurate as possible. I tried this b4 but my account is being funny. Thanks for the help.

Or at least that’s what I’m calling it! This was purchased by my friend David here at the Houston (Texas) guns show over the weekend. We always have a table and this walked by so he bought it on the cheap.

So, it isn’t marked; might it be a German occupied territories product? or is it postwar?
