I’d been mulling buying one of these for a few months now, and found this at a show this past weekend, the price seemed ok, and I talked him down another 20, so it seemed like a good deal.

I could have sworn I’d seen the makers mark before, but my brothers were in such a hurry to leave, and of course I found it at the end of the show, I didn’t have time to check, but tried to rely on my memory, as good as that is.

The tip is a little buggered up, but it’s not a bad example for 90USD I thought. I just need to look for a frog now.

Greetings Friends,
I’ve never been much of a Navy Collector and my knowledge of Nautical Collectibles is correspondingly limited…A friend of mine from Brooklyn, New York sent me this cap…swears it’s German…I can’t find a marking anywhere, and although I’ve studied the examples on the Forum and I’m fairly confident that it is indeed German, I would be very grateful for your Expertise and Opinions…
