Swiss Model 1882 Revolver in 7.5mm

This revolver was a development of the previous M1878 10.4 mm but in a new 7.5 mm calibre-this started the trend in European pistols of having rifle calibre rounds of dubious power in military use!
This is a fixed frame, single gate loader-conservative, but typical of military pistols of the time-the weapon was adopted from 1883 onwards and remained in production until the end of the 1920s when it was replaced in manufacture by the similar M1929 revolver. It remained in Swiss use until the mid 1950s by which time it was a military antique.
As I mentioned in a previous post on the M1929, the revolver type stayed in both use and production by the Swiss after their adoption of various Luger automatics after 1900 due to it being cheaper to make and needing only one hand to operate for mounted/bicycle troops.
This particular example was made in 1921, one of 350 made that year-like the M1929, it’s very well made and looks it even more so with its strawed parts. The 3rd photo shows the loading gate open and the ejection rod deployed. It’s still mechanically tight and I shall shoot it at some stage next year.

Important! New EU Deactivation Regulations Approved

The First Part of the new EU Legislation on Deactivated guns has been passed and becomes effective on 8 April 2016 .
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-conte…621527&from=EN
This is a link to the full document, but basically the new standards will mean a weapon that is welded solid, including the magazine. The other big problem is section 9 at the beginning of the document that states that when a weapon is sold or transfered, it must be converted to this new specification. If you are the owner of an older specification deact. which is strippable and has moving parts , you will have to pay to have this work carried out and then have it re-proofed.
In the UK this will have a big impact, if you like myself own many OLD SPEC deacts, you are facing the prospect of having a lot of money wiped off the value, as at present they do fetch a premium, not only that many of the earlier deacts are also some of the more historically important weapons and they will be reduced to scrap metal , at your cost.
Please contact your MP and voice your concerns that if this law is made retrospective you will be affected.
This EU one size fits all Law is not fit for purpose and is penlising law abiding collectors, whilst not addressing the real issues.

Luftwaffe Helmet M35 Double Decal. All good?

Hello experts and online friends.. rookie strikes back with maybe a good one this time.
Was interested if all on this helmet is original. Seems like. Not sure about the right decal and chinstrap.
The rest seems ok. I hope the pics are good enough.

Will be very thankful for some precious info. Thanks a lot!

Cheers
D.H.
