A new addition to my IAB collection. 
The maker of this example is as of yet, unknown. It is referred to as a soft scoop or scooped K98. This example also is referred to as a "raised guides variant". This example has absorbed most of the bronze finish and suffers a very little bit from zinc pest. It is one I did not have yet. :rolleyes:

Traces of the bronze finish can still be seen on the edges.

US Army WW2 IKE Jacket w/Purple Heart Ribbon, Army Presidential Unit, 45th Inf

I have a question about an item on eBay I am thinking about bidding on. Specifically, the Ike jacket has a 45th Infantry badge, purple heart, and the Army Presidential Unit Citation. In my mind, I was thinking the Army Presidential Unit Citation was reserved for a specific unit? Or was it available to all units? Thanks for the clarification. Just want to be sure before I bid.

I picked this up 20 years ago at a flea market. The seller had what looked to be large amount of them in a fold over case. He was selling them for $5 a piece. white string had price tag Has anyone ever seen a full set with carrying case? Also I have seen these as "gas" flags and "mine". could they have used them interchangeably since gas wasn’t used in the war?
