A friend of mine has this trench knife.
I think the knife is good, but I am concerned about the leatherstrap ! it has no strap around the handle of the knife and it has this crown stamp i´ve never seen before !
Could any of you guys help in this matter ? Do you know this stamp and set up ?
And in general , is this piece good ??
I picked this group up yesterday with a lot of paperwork and pictures. It was all stuffed in the old trunk shown in the first picture. Family members were cleaning out the house of deceased relatives and everything is as I dug it out of the trunk.
Paperwork include service documents, letters from mom, and girlfriends..some not so happy with him. Photos include military and girlfriends/family. There is also a lot of paperwork from his brother who was WW2 USMC. I have not gone through any of that yet.
A quick glance through the paperwork with this group leads me to believe that he hit Europe around 1946. I know for sure that he was in Germany in 46 but may have been there sooner..Just not certain yet.
Here are a few pictures. Unfortunately bugs were not kind to many of these items.
Any info on the patches (ovals), DUI’s, or anything else that may strike you as odd would be appreciated.

Ok, it’s been a while since I posted a pickelhaube, but I think it was worth waiting…
After looking for several decades for a nice felt lacquered ersatz pickelhaube, it finally happened! A while ago, I was able to purchase this M95 Oldenburg Inf. Regt. Nr. 91 with stamps and all… There’s a little crazing in the lacquer here and there but I can live with that, considdering how long it took me to find one and let’s not forget the rarity of this fragile haube… How often does one encounter an Oldenburg helmet?
