Hello everyone.

I have found this Order that i guess is from russian empire before it became soviet union,
but this item is not in my range of knowledge.
Can anyone tell me what it is?
It comes from an old russian family that after ww2 moved to sweden.

I would be very thankfull for any help given.

Arrived today, a well used example with a camo overpaint. It was obviously stripped back to bare metal when it was restored for WWII use in the late 1930’s with a textured overpaint and then the pale brown stripes added on top after it had seen some use I think. A lovely been there paint job IMO.

Made by Thomas Firth & Sons with uncommonly seen for MKI* it has MKIII chinstrap lugs. It came with post war liner and chinstrap that the seller put in which I have replaced with a MKI liner and MKII chinstrap that I had as spares.

I had been after a MKI* for a while so very pleased to get this example.

Recently picked this navigator brevet up, and it is obvious that the "N" for navigator has been added with some kind of white paint.
on closer inspection, from the rear of the badge, it is possible to see the faint trace of where the "B" from the Bomb aimer has been unpicked.

I wonder if this was due to a shortage in navigator badges, or change of role etc.
or even (hopefully not) changed by a reenactor.

I found it interesting anyway, and thought id show it.
