Strange reverse patch 1st air cavalry BDU

I made an account just to ask about this because i find it so puzzling. I have recently purchased a BDU with a 1st air cavalry patch on the right shoulder, but the patch is some strange reverse variant i have never seen before, where its supposed to be green its black, and vice versa. Has anyone seen anything like this before? And does anyone know if this is legit? https://imgur.com/gallery/AfUuI

Adolf Hitler Alarm Clock

And now for something completely different.

A friend of mine showed me this clock today. He repairs clocks and someone gave this to him a few years back. Knowing I’m into militaria he showed it to me today.

Has anyone seen these before? A quick google search and I found similar but not exact versions ($400 price tag…eeekk!) but they appeared to be older and had a 1937 date on the front. Description is that it was probably for the British and American Bund.

The one I show here however, is made in America by Westclox of La Salle Illinois. While very similar to the one in the link, but it is different. The one my friend has seems a bit more modern in design. But I just can’t see a US manufacturer making these post war….and to what end. I can’t see anyone buying this for their kids nightstand.

The pictures are poor. My cell phone lens is cracked but was all I had.

RCN Trench Art

Was helping a friend cleaning out his sisters barn today when I saw this on the wall . I thought it was wooden at first , but when I got it down I realized it cast aluminum. It is screwed to the wooden backing . After some convincing and heavy lifting, he gave it to me .Has anyone seen these before , I’ve done some searches but couldn’t find another.

It’s a River-class frigate HMS/RCN Monnow (K441)
British built transferred to RCN in 1944
Sold to the Danish after the war

Hope you like it as much as I do !

Question Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber IAB silver ASSMANN Maker??

I have this IAB in silver. I think the maker is Assmann, but I’m not sure. Can anyone help me out here. Is this a Assmann IAB? If so, can you tell if it is early or late war? It has a good amount of the silver remaining and looks to be in pretty good shape. 1014707101470810147091014710101471110147121014713

Watch this…

Q: What do you get if you add a cast of Christopher Plummer, Bruno Ganz (Adolf Hitler in Downfall), Jürgen Prochnow (U-Boat captain in the 1981 classic Das Boot) and Martin Landau to director Atom Egoyan’s latest work..?

A: REMEMBER (2015), the story of an elderly Holocaust survivor with dementia who sets out to kill a Nazi war criminal.

I already noted the film, which I saw for the first time only recently, in the thread linked below but wanted to pass on the tip to more of our members. Simply put, this is a fantastic movie…a truly well made piece of work that is, in no simple terms, a must see.

Don’t even bother with the trailer…just spend the 90 mins or so it takes to watch the film…I will be surprised if you regret doing so later…

For those that have already seen it, or go on to watch it following this notice, please refrain from adding any spoilers.

Carl
