Prague castle bar

Hello,

Is time to upgrade my cased anschluss medal with a Prague bar. I’ve send some pictures from my cased medal and my other medal with pouch.

Could someone give me some advice about this Prague castle bar?

Much appreciated.

Australian Officers Service Dress cap

post 53 Aussie made and issued SD cap with AA queens crown buttons. It came with the SAS badge on it so I have left it for now but I am certain the badge is a duffer, though it does appear to have been on the cap for some time. Traces of another badge can be seen so it is not the first badge to have been on the cap.

The cap was very sensibly priced, local to me and I have been after one of these for some time for my collection so I am very pleased.

Question about SS Totenkopf cuff titles.

Hello to everyone!

I did stumbled over my father’s military belongings in the attic today. He was born 1921 and a member of 3rd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf. Are this cuff titles original or fake? I’m not sure if the original or if my father did saw it somewhere after the war and bought it as a kind of memory. He never talked much about the war and I was 16 as he died and had other interests then WW2 during that time.

Former Comrie POW donates life savings to village.

German POW leaves £400,000 to Scottish village

German POW leaves

A former Waffen SS soldier who was captured during World War Two has left the village he was held in nearly £400,000 for the kindness he was shown as a prisoner of war.

Heinrich Steinmeyer was captured in France when he was 19-years-old and was held in the POW camp at Cultybraggan near the village of Comrie, Perthshire.

But he said that he was only shown kindness by the villagers, which he had not expected, and he made lasting friendships in the village.

Now, two years after his death, aged 90, his wish to leave £384,000 to the village has been recognised and has been gifted to the village’s local community trust.

It will be spent on local development for the elderly in the area.
