After seeing Bill Grist post his FN I thought I would share mine that has the Bakelite grips instead of the wooden grips that Bills has
. Stamped on the slide is:
FABRIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE
BROWNING’S PATENT DEPOSE
34232
With "WaA 103" in several locations and a "FN" in an oval on the frame around the trigger guard.
It came with two clips that were not for this pistol but I eventually found one clip for it that has the "FN" in an oval and something below it that can not be made out. I am still looking for another clip if anyone has a lead on one.
The holster has an ink stamp on it but I can not make out everything, just a few words " Browning, Pistole kal. 7.65 " there are a few more smudged out words that l can not make out.
I am of the understanding that these were usually issued to Luftwaffe flight crews. Is this true or were they issued elsewhere?
Regards,
Hummel
