Hello, I am considering purchasing a Luftwaffe Oversea Hat that I have found online. It is marked well on the inside. I was wondering if the hat looks like a good piece and does the insignia look original to the hat and not added post war? It looks good to me but I don’t know much about stitching. Thank you for your help.

Although many of our UK members will be aware of the way former British soldiers are being hounded by Ambulance-chasers, it may not be known amongst the wider forum community. First it was our servicemen who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now the attention is turning once again to those of us who served in Northern Ireland. It was a war in everything but name, and one that didn’t even warrant its own campaign medal. Over 3,000 people died- the vast majority killed by the the two main terrorist organisations. In April 1972 a notorious IRA gunman was shot dead while trying to escape from a three-man patrol of the Parachute Regiment. At a time when former IRA terrorists have been granted immunity from prosecution for past crimes, the two surviving members of that foot-patrol are to be brought before a Belfast court to answer charges of unlawful killing. The decision was taken by the Belfast Director of Public Prosecutions - the very same person who earlier had worked as a lawyer for IRA gunman Martin McGuinness. Throughout this constant persecution for just doing our job in the most trying of circumstances, the British soldier has always kept his sense of humour. Solicitors are currently searching for the relatives of a British soldier by the name of ‘Jones’ who served at Rorke’s Drift. The descendants of a Zulu warrior - who was shot in the battle, claim that soldier ‘A’ was in the second rank, fired his rifle and killed him. They further claim that the Zulu warrior posed no immediate danger to the soldiers forming the second rank, and soldier ‘A’ had no reason to discharge his weapon - as the front rank had the incident covered at the time.
