Here i wanna show you mein SA- Sportabzeichen. I believe it´s a Gold- abzeichen, but as i am never sure of what is Bronze and what is Gold, i would not wonder if its bronze..
I hope nobody detects unpleasant flaws with this one, one never knows here at WRF
This example shows some nice frontal-wear ( ..i like some wear better than "mint condition", as it gives it some additional "mojo".
On the back says: " W.REDO /EIGENTUM D. OBERSTEN SA-FÜHRUNG / SAARLAUTERN"
(= W. REDO / PROPERTY OF THE HIGHEST SA- LEADERSHIP / SAARLAUTERN"
Dont be fooled by that inscription, as now it does not belong to the SA- Führung, instead it belonges to me.. MY PRECIOUS !!
As a cultutal data: Saarlouis is a city in the Saarland -area, Germany. From 1936 till 1945, Saarlouis was named as Saarlautern (-lautern being a common ending of town and village names in Germany) in an attempt by the Nazis to Germanise the town name.
I googled a bit around and I was thinking it maybe could be an m1895 tornister. Probably I’m not even close because this is not really something I have knowledge about.
There are a couple of things which made me hesitate.
First of all it is not marked. The seller checked but he couldn’t find any.
Second thing, the color of the inside. Mostly you see them in a tan kind if color and feldgrau I guess it is. This one is also green, but not the one I see online.
I hope you guys will be able to help me out. And if it is a original tornister, is 40 euros a fair price?
(The pictures aren’t the best pictures. So if it’s needed to get clearer pictures, let me know and I will ask the seller for them. Also if you need a photo of a specific part, let me know!)
- Some crosses come with a ribbon and some with just a pin. Why is that?
- I’ve seen pictures of 5th and 3rd class crosses in gold and 2nd class in silver. What defines the color?
- Is it possible the cross in the same class exists in both silver and gold version?
- What exactly is the difference in appearance between classes 1-3 or later 1-5?
Is there a good picture guide online of what the cross looks in different classes?
Thanks!
