Question about Vietnam Era Helmets

Hi guys,

I just picked up these 2 Vietnam era helmets, and I noticed a few differences between them. First the color seems to be slightly different between their covers. This may be just due to age and wear, however the contract numbers "8027" seem to date them both to 1964-65. I was wondering if there was a difference in the colors or patterns based on the manufacturer or is this just due to wear from usage and washing?

Also, one of the chinstrap buckles has an anchor on it and the other did not, I was wondering if the anchor on the chin strap represented something?

Thanks

Heer Officer’s Dovehead Sword

Hi folks.

One of my favourite pieces, and currently my only sword. The blade is marked ‘Puma’ Solingen, with ‘No 3′ on the reverse side. The adler and swastika on the guard seem to have been done by hand, and it appears the gentleman who carried it etched his initials into the reverse side. I really like the gilt on this one, which looks a lot brighter than most other swords I’ve seen. To my understanding, this was a detail characteristic of ‘Puma’ pieces.

Photos, for your perusal. Really must invest in a better camera…

Wehrpaß, Kriegsmarine?

Bought this one last summer. Cheap, in a condition to match the price. The spine is badly frayed, and the back half of the pages are floating freely within the cover. All pages are present, though. Although it’s really not very well filled in.
It belonged to a Mr Konrad Held (Anglicized on the cover) a resident of Wentorf, Hamburg. He appears to have been issued the document in 1940, and was active fairly late in the war. There are mentions of Flak batteries, and an entry on page 26 that seems to reference the Kriegsmarine. A coastal defender on the Atlantic Wall, perhaps?
As ever, my poor grasp of period handwriting leaves me at a loss.
I’d be thankful on any clarification as to what exactly Konrad got up to during the war.

Much appreciated.
