Orthopedic insole

I’ve found an orthopedic insole near Vitebsk (Belarus), which is made from iron. Can this insole belong to Wehrmacht?

Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, Unmarked Gottlieb & Wagner.

A recent addition to my IAB collection.
This example is a solid zinc badge that has a wrap around, sheet metal hinge that is fitted into a recess in the reverse of the badge. The round wire catch is attached to a rectangular base plate which is also fitted into a recess in the reverse.
This one still retains most of it’s silver finish that has taken on a darker tone over the years.
Ralph.

Vietnam era M1

I just acquired an M1 helmet from the Vietnam era, heat stamp #604, short numbers stamp. it has a stainless rim and was wondering how often were these installed on helmets. I thought only WW2 models had stainless rims. It’s shiny and the paint doesn’t stay on like the WW2 models. I believe I saw another one on ebay recently.
