Need help! German Helmets

On a recent rip to Russia and the Baltic states I purchased these two M35 helmets One was in a military store in Tallinn and the other from a scavenger in Volgograd. Can anyone throw any light on the Hersteller SS label.

US Holocaust Memorial Museum Encyclopedia Volumes FOR FREE

For those who don’t know, in 1999 the US Holocaust Memorial Museum began a major project to produce an Encyclopedia series on the various aspects of the Holocaust with the first volume being published in 2009. It really is a project to end all projects on the subject matter and will eventually run to 7 volumes. Each volume is split in to two parts and the page count is around 1,400-1,700 for each two part volume.

Volume 1 Pt A & B is entitled ‘ Early Camps, Youth Camps, and Concentration Camps and Subcamps under the SS-Business Administration Main Office (WVHA)’ while Volume 2 Pt A & B is entitled ‘Ghettos in German-Occupied Eastern Europe’. Volume 3 Pt A & B are due for release this year and is entitled ‘Camps and Ghettos under European Regimes Aligned with Nazi Germany’.

Each two part volume set sell for £124 (new) and upwards but the USHMM themselves are making the first two volumes (so 4 books in total) available for download as PDF’s for absolutely nothing.

Just go to the link below, click on ‘Download the PDF’s’ and fill in a small survey (just name, email, why you wish to download, company worked for/education authority & do you wish to receive emails from USHMM - for the ‘why?’ question I just put that I own the books and this will make it easier to search the topic) and once you submit that you are then redirected to a page where you can download all 4 parts for free. On the same page as the ‘Download the PDF’s’ are the links to download each volumes contents & indexes - file size wise they are between 59-90Mb). Even if you have no intention of obtaining the future volumes don’t miss this chance to obtain these books that will never be bettered on the topics they cover.

For reference sake, the four gray & blue books on the left of this photo are Volumes 1 & 2 Pts A & B in physical form.

Infanterie Sturmabzeichen help

I am not sure about this one. I am assuming very tough shape zinc. No maker mark that I can see.
Thoughts on maker?
Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

Need help! Any Allgemeine SS Visors for sale?

Hey guys,

I would like to purchase a good or mint quality Allgemeine SS Visor and I’ve tried looking all over and I found either reproductions or just terrible destroyed visors. If you guys knows anybody that is selling one (or even a few), can you please refer them to me? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Help with Ribbon ID Please

I picked up in a small group of ribbons for medals but I cannot ID this ribbon. The width is 36 to 37 mm. The length is shown in the pic but looks like it has been altered and cut down. Any help is greatly appreciated. My apologies if this is not in the correct forum.

Can anyone confirm if these two medals are genuine? From 1918-1921 era.

I believe the first one is for military volunteers during the war against the Soviets in 1918-1921. I am not sure about this medal. Its made of good quality metal that cannot be bent. It looks and feels real. My only concern is the weird machined pattern on the side, I took a picture where its pretty visible.

The second one I believe is for the battle against Ukraine in 1918? I’m not sure. This one bends with enough pressure, so unless this particular medal was made from soft metal or metal that can bend with age, then I will just assume its likely fake.

They are both from the same seller, so if one is fake I’m assuming the other is too. I’m just hoping you guys can give me some good news!

Thank you!

SS Collection - Rossi

Cataloged here are the SS Items in my collection. I recently added at the bottom 3 - SS collar tabs & 1 Sleeve Patch Eagle. Thought I would add photos of them to thread as well.

SS items can be tough and I did my share of reading books and threads before buying. There are many people I would like to thank. First my Late Grandfather, John Telesmanich, Bando / Beaver, Bob Coleman, Friedrich Berthold, Sgt. John Pittman and Bill Shea. They all have contributed in some fashion as I worked towards procuring good authentic quality SS items into my collection over the years. We are only as good at times as the quality people around us. I have learned a lot and am grateful.

Now for a chained SS and Visor which are on the bucket list. Hope you enjoy.

Rossi

Press Photo, Post D-Day

Hello folks.

A small, cheap piece, but a nice one. A press photograph taken just after D-Day, showing British soldiers coming ashore. The more you look at it, the more you see. Note the barrage balloons flying from the craft still offshore, and the Bren Gun Carrier on the beach in the centre. Lots of brave young men coming ashore at the dawn of the liberation of Europe.
The beach in question isn’t mentioned, and so I have no idea whether this is Gold, Sword or any of the other landing sites. An interesting one nonetheless, with a bit of information stamped on the reverse.

Regards, B.B.
