Looking at this m40 single decal to purchase. thoughts? Real? Fake? much appreciated as i have limited knowledge on German helmets.

Back in the 1960’s, I used to visit a German book store,chmidt Imports, in the German neighborhood in Chicago. They carried a lot of books on the war including a set of volumes on the Waffen SS. When first published, these books came with a genuine cuff title from the division to be used as a book mark. By the late 60’s, the original stock that the publisher had acquired were gone and they replaced them with reproduction titles. These books were marketed at the veterans of these units and I doubt they ever knew the titles were reproduction. A little known fact I thought the membership would enjoy hearing about.

This Hermann-Göring-Werke Document grouping is for a Polish man named Stanislaw Barczyk, Born 4 April 1894 in Braciejowka. His factory ID for the Starachowice plant of the Hermann-Göring-Werke was valid until 6 June 1942. Andreas was kind enough to translate some of this for me as gracious as he is always with his time. The other documents are Polish. When I look back at WWII we have it pretty good and are not slaves to a radical master.

I have never seen this, only in very vague theory. Thanks to Peter Jenkins.

It shows how the sections of the RZM issued or sold, rather, the tags with the serial numbers, as well.

No word here of the word "tax," which is used often by those with an incomplete grasp.

The term of art is Gebuehr for the tag itself. I would translate it as a "fee" and not a tax.
