Description:

Heer Nebelwerfer (Smoke) Standard Bearers Sleeve Shield For Sale!

Hello -
I inherited this piece from my father several years ago and have decided to put it up for sale. It is missing the fabric square that often surrounds these shields so I have discounted the price. Otherwise, it’s in wonderful condition.
I have included several photos, some with flash and some without, so you can see the front and back under different lighting conditions.
This shield could probably be described in "excellent" condition but I am not an expert in these matters so I it is listed as "great" instead. There are a couple small spots (visible in the photos) but, other than a gentle wipe with a damp sponge, I have not tried to clean the shield in any way. As I said, it’s not my area of expertise and I didn’t want to take any risks.
I am more than happy to answer an additional questions you have about the item.

Thanks for looking!

Important! Classified sales and Wanted ads cleaned up

Hi Guys, I have been busy removing old out of date ads from the classified area.

Some of these went back 3 years!

No one wants to trawl through old ads and maybe contact the poster only to find it may have sold years ago or their collecting interests have changed.

So in order to make the experience of this section better, all ads over 6 months old will be removed.

The whole section needs to be totally revamped and this is the start of that process.

Cheers, Ade.

Need help! Japanese Mess Kit?

Hey guys could I please get your opinions on this as I am completely out of my field. I picked up what I think is a Japanese WW2 mess kit at the local recycling place this afternoon, I have been over it several times and the only marking I can find on it is a small stamp on the bottom which looks like two small rings with possibly a triangle inside, I have tried to get the best pictures I can but even with a magnifying glass and the naked eye I still can’t make it out properly. Also underneath the tray/insert is a roughly engraved Japanese flag with kanji inside.
Also would you happen to know what the insert that fits in the bottom is, I have just spent the last hour on google looking at Japanese mess tins and can’t find another one, it looks to have been with it a long time and is I think it might be an insert to stop rice sticking to the bottom of the tin? (my pasta cooker in the kitchen has a very similar thing)
Thanks for looking and I hope the pictures are good enough, if not I can take more tomorrow in natural light.

Luke.
