Question DDRI marking on canteens

Hi all!

Maybe someone knows what it means labeling "DDRI" on canteens and cups?
In this topic it is said about a similar marking on NVA visors:

http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/nation…-codes-359384/

Quote:

With regards to dates, it should also be noted that in the very first years of the DDR, from around 1956, tunics and hats were often marked DDR/I or DDR/II referring to the first and second years of production

If I understand correctly, "I" or "II" means the year of release? (In this case, 1956).
Is this true, or am I mistaken?

Best regards,Michael

Question British Mk III colour question

Dear All,

I would like to ask you about my Mk III helemt colour. Is it postwar or original?
(Unfortunately there is not any markings in the shell, the liner has a CCL 11 1941 marking.)
Thank you for your answer in advance!

George

Need help! Axis belt buckle, unidentified, Romanian, Bulgarian??

Axis belt buckle, unidentified, Romanian, Bulgarian?? This is an unusual buckle that is supposed to be from an ‘elite’ unit in one of the Axis armies during WWII. It is well made from 10895071089508white metal; probably handmade, and is multi-piece construction. It came on a brown Sam Browne officers belt rig with felt backing on the belt and shoulder strap. Would love to find out what this is! Hope someone can help.

Can not find info about a German Canteen - Help

Hello, Many year ago I acquired a German WWII Horse hair back pack, Mess Kit and Canteen. The Mess Kit is not the standard M31, It is a 2.0L Model 1910 (made in either 36 or 38). The backpack is pretty standard but the canteen is odd.

It has an odd leather strap that wraps around it, It looks like the original Grey felt was lost and someone taped patches of Orange and brown Felt onto it, But the odd part is the Cup that is attached looks like the one I have seen in many pictures but it has 2 metal straps that the leather band goes through and it is silver. The other odd part is it has a metal screw lid that does not look like any other I have seen and the threads on the canteen are thick and the spout is odd shaped from every other one.

Has any one ever come across one like this??

Any info is appreciated. 10895011089502

Serious Autographs

I know this is a somewhat often discussed topic, but I have some fairly specific questions. I read posts about Snyder Treasures on here and needless to say when I came across it I was pretty amazed to see such a high amount of material signed by Hitler as well as Hitler-Keitel and Hitler-Himmler items in one place. Much of it is in signed promotion orders and certificates, etc. I saw posts commenting on other memorabilia but anyone have info on the autographs I’m mentioning?

Opinions on these supposed signed Mein Kampf books would be welcome as they seemed fishy to me.

Can anyone please direct me to someone on here who is considered pretty knowledgeable when it comes to this topic as well?

Any info in reputable military autograph dealers would be helpful as well, I do have some money I’m willing to spend and not just necessarily for Nazi signatures.

Thank you so much!

winter cammo relic gas mask canister

OK so it looks like I’m on a bit of a roll here…..

this time I’ve latched onto what I think is a decent winter painted gasmask Kanister. The photos are the sellers and I will take better ones when it arrives but to my eyes at least it appears correct. I don’t think the patina is contrived and the residue of green remnants is easily visible.

Missing its spare lens compartment lid and oddly painted inside????? which is a bit weird and had me thinking for a while - but as the rust looks old and been there for a long time I took a chance. All in all for $50 it seemed to be calling my name.

Appreciate your ‘bouquets’ or ‘brickbats’……:D

Thanks for looking.
Dan
