The Spanish MARTE series.

I recently spent some time trying to properly comprehend the Spanish M65 series of helmets. That was a relative success and I created a Spotters Guide that may well be accurate (more or less). So I then turned to the Marte, a helmet series that is in its way equally confusing. I knocked up another Spotters Guide which is a bit more provisional, as the information is sometimes contradictory and is mostly in Spanish (thank you Google, for Translate).

Here are my provisional notes. I am covering only the obvious Martes 1, 2 and 3 and the most identifiable subtypes; there may be - are - other subtypes about which I know little or nothing. In fact I think I have one, an object which does not conform to anything in my notes. (NB I have mostly followed Joseba’s ( FICHA COMPLEMENTARIA ) numerical classifications here).

Ideally I would like to see a flood of additions and corrections. I would not be surprised to have it shown that many of my ideas are wrong - but then we’ll *all* be better informed!

I have four examples of the Marte, two of which still have the labels (known to fall off easily or be deliberately removed), so they’re comparatively easy to identify (assuming of course they are the original labels…) and two which don’t. I believe I can confidently identify three of the four, the last one doesn’t instantly conform to any of my notes - help!

The first is a Marte 1 85/88 (the second version produced)

The second is a Marte 2 85/94, the second version of the Marte 2

10924471092448

The third is a Marte 3 85/89, which I believe is the one and only basic Marte 3 version.

10924511092452

The fourth to be shown is confusing - I can’t as yet see how it fits into the series, though I suspect is is a modification of a Marte 1.

SS M42 CKL66 3012 (for David).

Hi, just photographed my proper combat used SS M42 in the "storage box" set up! I hope you can see the close up of the "gravel blast" or alike that has left a unique impact mark across the paint work. An un-marked chinstrap, but the band is dated 1943. Doug used to own "brothers" on either side of this one’s lot number. A completely un-messed with helmet since wars end. Leon.

2 Flak Trumpet Banenrs from the same unit

I recently had the opportunity to photograph my Flak Regiment 26 trumpet banner with another one from the same
unit, as I think to get two from the exact unit is a fairly rare chance these days. The other banner belongs to a friend
of mine here in Melbourne, so I did these photos a couple of days back.

The banners were originally brought back by a British soldier in 1945, who found them in Bremen, and he brought four
back with him, and his family sold the four of them to Helmut Weitze in 1990, I was fortunate enough to be able to
obtain one, and my friend has one of them too. I don’t know where the other two wound up, but they were also sold
by Weitze in Germany.

The I./Flak Regiment 26 banners….

Any Terminator fan’s here?

I’m just trying to see what the fan base is on this flick. I have over 20 "TOUCH MY CAR AND YOU’RE TERMINATED SUCKER" bumper stickers from the original movie that I showed in 1984 at the base theater when it came out. I’m not selling these yet, Thought about it and made an offer but not sure. But I’m just curious on the fan base on these. They are asking crazy money(Why I’m Asking) on ebay for these and just wanted to see if there is really a market for these. Don’t worry no PM’s to promo these to anybody who replies. I’m really in quandary on these and I’m just seeing if there is any real interest from around the world on these.
If this is an inappropriate question/post Mod’s , Feel free to TERMINATE IT.
Don’t worry because ,It won’t BE BACK!!!cool militaria
