Flt Lt J.Reid RAFVR 605 Sqdn.

Hiya, Thought you might be interested in seeing my uncles D Day Logbook entry, he flew Mosquitos with 605 Sqdn, he and his observer Roy Phillips were killed on 26th June 1944 when their craft crashed in flames about a mile downline from Margate Railway Station. That’s him on the right, he was 23, and his observer was 21 when they died, Jackie is buried in Hemel Hempstead Cemetary. BTW, he was a NON smoker and tea total too…he thought a pipe was the "thing" that made an RAF pilot, look like a pilot..I have the letter from him to my gran about his pipe,and that he had NOT started smoking, so she was NOT to worry… cost him 1/-…:)

Collecting for a year…:)

Hi Guys, my first post here, been lurking for a while, and decided to sign up this evening…:)

I started collecting about a year ago, and TBH, its taken over my life….I’m a "general" sort of collector, tho, my main interest is helmets…:)
A few pics of the collection so far..hope you like, I had to convert our attic to house it, and think its going to have to be extended soon..:)

Need help! I need some help identifying this Canteen

Im relatively new to collecting military items so my knowledge isn’t to good on theses things, i came across this canteen at a local flea market and so i snatched it up because in my area seeing anything related to Germany in WW2 is extremely rare, upon further investigation i discovered that it was not your standard M-31 German canteen, so any help in identifying this would be lovely

Need help! Need Help Plate from the Berghof?

Hello,
I need your opinion again. I have a large porcelain plate here. On the 12 o’clock position is a Reichsadler with Hakenkreuz. This stands on the porcelain a few millimeters. The plate has a diameter of 30 cm. Supposedly this plate comes from the Berghof. The plate has a surrounding green strip. Unfortunately the plate is not so nice to photograph. What is your opinion about the plate?
