This is a second IAB in Silver for review. This one has me a little concerned because of the circle marks on the reverse of the badge. I don’t ever recall seeing anything like this, and at first I thought it may have been stamped or pressed. I don’t know if the makers of these badges used that type of manufacturing technique (stamping metal or pressing metal). I was also a little concerned about the lack of detail on the features of the badge, however in light of what I was told about this possibly being a molded badge, I can see that some of the details will lack…
I sent the same pictures I will post here to Ralph Boos and he believes this may possibly be an Assmann and Sohne mold number 1.
Once again I can’t thank you all enough for your knowledge, friendliness and spirt of collecting to assist in identification of badges with those of us who do not collect Third Reich artifacts as a primary hobby.
I have enjoyed scouring the forums and yesterday I was looking up a Wound badge in the forums and the Wound Badge database and I was able to confirm that I have a Carl Wild example which I was pretty impressed with 1. my research abilities and 2. The ease of identification due to great photos and information provided.
Looking forward to hearing what others think about this IAB in Silber, and again if this is a good one I would like to submit this to the Original IAB Database for historical preservation..

Would like some of the more knowledgeable folks to take a look at this IAB. At the suggestion of one of the great members here Ralph Boos, he suggested to get some more input. I have taken a look at some of the originals in the database but since my knowledge in this area is weak, I needed firm confirmation.
It has been suggested that it may be an early Steinhauer & Luck badge based on the hardware on the reverse of the badge..
I would like to contribute to the database of IABs if this one passes examination.
I will also post a second IAB in Silver in a second topic.
Thanks everyone. Since I have become a member here my intent has been to learn, examine, educate, and also contribute where I may to assist others as they have assisted me in the past..

Fairly new to the forum. I had signed up a few years ago, but have been busy and finally remembered I should sit down and look at this treasure trove of knowledge.
I have recently inherited a multitude of items from a friend of the family when he passed away. He served in WW2 and brought back a few items with him after the war. The attached pictures of the SS-Dienstauszeichnung 3.Stufe (8 Jahre) are the ones in question. I am looking to see is anyone can help me with it’s authenticity?
Also, I hope the photos uploaded the right way up. My apologies if they did not. I’m still trying to get the hang of things here.
This is my latest acquisition; a beautiful Luftwaffe visor cap. Eagle and oakleaf with cockade in great condition. Blue gray cloth with black strap and golden yellow piping. Aluminum eagle and oakleaf with cockade in great condition (check photos) Light gray lining with sewn diamond from maker "Adler-Marke, deutsches Qualitäts-Erzeugnis, Stirndruckfrei". Leather sweat band also in light gray.
Here are some high resolution pictures:
The visor came with two letters for its owner Artur Bucher (name tag underneath sweatband, not visible in the pictures) dated 1938, both in their original envelopes. I will upload pictures of the letters soon!
The cap looks impresive and in really good condition with very little moth damage. I am almost sure that it is an original (fine materials plus documentation identifying its owner) I hope all of you guys like it as well, and please let me know your opinion, I will be delighted to read your comments!
Kind regards,
MG.

Furthermore, can you please tell me whether it is Heer or Kriegsmarine?
I would greatly appreciate any help or information. Best regards Stefan
