The wool is fine quality, the swaz is embroidered, not stitched tape. Judging by the garbage repros produced in the 60s’ & 70s’, was wondering how either horribly fake this is or what chance it has being original. I loosened the stitching to show the disc in back (which does not look promising)

It’s a series looking at Japan with part one being focused on the art of traditional sword making in Japan (the location in question is Omuta Japan).
Curiosity got the better of me when i realised that the name of the family featured was the same as our very own resident Guru of Japanese Militaria…..Nick!
I’m not able to tell how common a name in Japanese would be, that is, like ‘Smith’ or ‘Jones’ is in English, and i couldn’t help but wonder if they were possibly relations of sorts???
Anyway, i hope you find it as interesting as i did.
