New member intro

Hi, from the USA. War history buff, have a few collectibles, looking to pick up a few more. Maybe a belt buckle, medals, or? Grandfather was an allied pilot in WW2. Father served in Vietnam. Both have passed. Looking to learn enough to spot a deal on authentic items, especially axis. Just looking to lurk, post on something interesting, and to show off anything I do come across.
I also metal detect and enjoy watching ww2 metal detecting videos and magnet fishing on YouTube.
Mining, I like gold mining, gems, and things that have value.
I have a family, a career, and have been very fortunate with good health.

Boot, aka, new guy Hello

I found this site while trying to identify a pair of boots I picked up at a garage sale couple decades ago. I joined hoping to get your help with identification.
The gent I bought them from said he brought them back from Germany after the second World War as a souvenir of his 1st kill. I have found others jack boots that look similar to these, but nothing exactly the same.
Looking around the site, it looks like I could spend a lot of my limited free time here. I love to learn.
I love war stories, movies, books and first hand accounts. Currently I am reading several books about Marines in WW 2, after learning an old boss had passed away.
Sergeant Major Jesse Louis Pacheco. He served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from the Core in 1979. The summer of 1990, 1st Gulf war, we where working in Baltimore. When he heard there might be another war, he said to me, he was hoping to be reactivated. He thought he could be of use.
I come across military items occasionally. I know a little some something, but far from a know it all.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Peace

Heer Feldbluse original or repro?

Hello,

A couple of years ago i bought i Feldbluse for my collection on a Dutch militaria webshop. I just assumed that it was a repro and never looked for info on the internet. The price wasn’t that high i think. I put some repro insignia as well as the repro belt hooks on the Feldbluse that you can ignore. The only details about the tunic i know is that’s a sanitäter uniform. But the question is: is this tunic original or reproduction? Thanks for reading and maybe give me some info cool militaria

Mukden Arsenal Type 38 Arisaka Rifle

Hello Friends,

I recently added this rifle to my collection, and thought i would share it with the forum. I purchased this from a friend who is the son-in-law of the veteran who brought the rifle and bayonet over to the states when the war was over. The rifle looks to have been hit by a small piece of shrapnel near the bayo lug, and left a both entry and exit holes. As always, i look forward to your input.

Take care,

Mart
