Sold! Lock & Co Rogatywka

New high water mark set yesterday. This particularly fine example of a Lock marked rogatywka sold for £2300 + buyer premium and fees. I am told that when tallied up the surcharges amount to a 27% additional sting over the hammer price. Painful. But one lucky collector has themselves an exceptional addition to their collection.

Regards,
Tony

SS Financial Supporter’s Badge

Hello Everyone,

I purchased this badge about two years ago at a local flea market. I was not sure at the time if it was genuine but decided to take a gamble, considering the low asking price. I know that it’s a Flemish Allgemeine SS financial supporter’s badge (lapel type) but know little else. The seller obtained the badge from a family member of First Sergeant Harry Latcher, who brought it home as a souvenir at the end of WWII. Mr. Latcher, out of Richmond, Virginia, passed away in 2011. I had the opportunity to purchase many other souvenirs and personal military documents that belonged to Mr. Latcher, but unfortunately let them slip away.

Any comments or additional information that the members could provide about the badge or Mr. Latcher would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

NVA uniform

I’ve recently decided to start collecting NVA related material, and one of my first purchases has been a uniform named to ‘Oberfeldwebel W Meyer’. The cap, tunic, and boots all carry his name or initials, and although the breeches have no name - they are of the same date code for 1974 (11/O). The belt & holster seen in the picture have now been replaced with a brown holster & officer’s brown leather belt. The shirt & tie are also NVA issue, but did not belong to Meyer. I was quite pleased with my handiwork when I dressed up a mannequin I obtained especially for the uniform, that is until my wife took one look and said that it looked like a transvestite… :weep:

Discretion being the better part of valour, I grudgingly toned it down a bit and mounted it on another mannequin that I had to hand. Now headless and armless, it still looks OK.

Another tunic I have since obtained is this black collared O/R’s tunic from 1966

More items to follow over the next few weeks…

Cheers,
Steve.

Polish Wz 67

1099226109922710992281099229109923010992311099232
Really nice condition Wz 67 (refurbed i reckon) i picked up this week, spotted it on ebay Poland for £4.00. The Wz 67 was a follow on from the Polish Wz50 (ssh 40 shell), it was re-designed to look more like the pre-war Wz 31. Still has the ink stamp on the inner shell, HS Huta Silesia, 7/IV, 1972, 54-57 (Small to medium shell).
In very nice condition for a 1972 lid!….
