Recently Acquired French Helmet

Hello all,

I picked this up from as part of a larger bundle of items the other day. I didn’t look at it too much at the time, I merely saw a French helmet and put it in my pile. However when I got it home I noticed that’s it had a few coats of paint through its life which are now poking through. It appears there’s some tan and some green. Any thoughts on the indications these colors may have meant through this helmets life?
Thank you and warm wishes.

3 New Seitengewehr 98/05’s For My Collection

Hello all,

I picked these up the other day and I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts. I’ve heard that the numbers and letters present on the hand guard of the saw-back may refer to a unit however I’m unsure.

+The saw-back is dated to 1906 and manufactured by Erfurt. Appears to say "E. 13. 8L." on the hand guard.
+The bayonet with the reproduction frog doesn’t appear to have any visible date. It was manufactured by Frister & Rossman however the blade also carried the JA Henckels twins stamp.
+The third bayonet carries the date of 1917 and was manufactured by Carl Eickhorn.

Thank you for your wisdom and warmest wishes.

Added 4 boxes of 8mm ammo to the collection

I picked up 4 various boxes of WWII era 8mm ammo in good condition. These should display well and in various years. Good examples for the future of collecting to compare.

ss lid

Hi Guys
Just wondering if anyone could help me with this lid
It is a late ckl sd. Liner and chinstrap look good to me but unsure about the decal. Under a loupe it looks good with silver metallic background. Decal has a fairly smooth finish, done the old fingernail and doesn’t scrape off lol
Any ideas??
Matt

Need help! Knights cross of the Iron cross by Zimmermann REAL OR FAKE ?

Hello folks, I found this nice Knights cross by Zimmermann; "20" on the reverse of the cross and "L/52" on the loop.

I’ve been told elsewhere that it’s a fake, I still do not now enough about Knights crosses but I know it’s a 3 piece construction one.

I would like to know your thoughts on this one

The Ribbon has the "scalloped" edge that should indicate it’s originality

If it’s a Fake; I would like to know why.

Need help! ‘11′ Maker Marked EK1?

Hi my friends,

I have a question about this EK1.

‘11′ Maker Marked EK1 is a perfect match with Deumer.

Q1: Is this a mistake on the maker’s mark? -> If so, did Deumer use the same ‘11′ markings as Grossmann??
Q2: Is this a post-war product? -> Like L15 marking in F. Orth

*Maker marking*

3 - Deumer PKZ
11- Grossmann PKZ
11- Deumer PKZ(??)

L/11 - Deumer LDO

Best regards,
S.W.
