I am far more familiar with MKII’s than Para lids. This salty G&S 1943 dated British Para lid appears to be perfectly correct.
Found here in NZ for very little. I am curious about the paint job. Very little of the original paint remains. This has undoubtedly been re-used by the British or NZ Army post-war hence the green over-paint remnants. What I am curious about is the coat beneath the green which is a non glossy tan paint. If anyone can shed any more light of this lids possible service or thoughts on the paint I would be interested.

I am new to the forum and medal collecting. I picked up this badge at a local antique mall. Can I please have some input on if it is real or fake? Are these badges typically faked or reproduced?
Thank you and I appreciate the input.
I thought I would share with you my North African campaign MKII obtained in NZ over 15 years ago.
The shell is a RO&CO and is dated 1940. The liner is a Briggs Motor Bodies size 7. This was brought back by a Kiwi vet of the North African Campaign. This one is spot on and hasn’t been messed with since it was worn in North Africa over 75 years ago.
