Cased Ek1

Hello, I have been wanting to add a nice WW1 first class to my collection for a while now so I was wondering your thoughts on this cased ek1. My main questions are if the cross matches the case and if its a WW1 era manufactured cross. I have been doing some research and I think the maker is Carl Dillenius but I could be wrong. Thanks for looking!

Attention – collection stolen!

It is sad, but true. Next week I will return this subject for more details,
but for now just a short announcement.

Last weekend the entire collection from my friend Philippe Gillain from Belgium,
who helped me a lot in the past with my books, has been stolen from his house!

And when I say collection, one hardly can imagine what this means. I have seen
the collection many times and I must say it is practically impossible this is done
by one person only. This must have been done by a gang, a scrupulous number
of thieves, and must have taken hours and hours before all was taken from the
house!

It is speculated the theft was on orders of some person, who may have paid the
gang for their job! Who knows where all the items have landed. We can be sure
the items from the collection won’t be offered that
quickly, as for now it is HOT STUFF!

I will keep you all informed, but believe me there were enormous rare items in the
collection: hundreds of rare buckles, rare cloth insignia, numbers of headgear of
all kind, flags and so on. Too much to mention!

Neat Pillow

Not sure this is the proper place for this but I thought I would go ahead and post it. Unlike a lot of the items of this type, this one is simple and straight forward!

Question M40 DD problem identifying maker mark

I have seen this helmet for sale, but am having difficulty reading the maker stamp. I was hoping for an ET but it doesn’t look like any wartime manufacturer stamp. The adler looks like a Heer darkened with (I assume) varnish, covering the whole lid, rather than a Kriegsmarine one. The national shield I think looks good, BUT does the liner look rather too Norskie? The rivets look loose too. I have requested better pics of the decals and liner. Any help appreciated, as always - the last M40 I posted went AWOL!

Opinions on Imperial Visor

I was wondering what you guys opinion was on this visor listed at auction. It lists it as a German 1917 Officers Cap and that it is either a late war production or a theater made piece. Any thoughts?

Another for the collection a 2pdr case

Picked up a 2pdr case 304mm long the other day I had a spare G1 profile 2pdr solid which has a No.1007 underneath (see pic) so I put that in it they are a little banged up but hey that’s part of the patina.
I also have a solid 2pdr rounded nose practice projie stamped 1941 in red oxide colour but it did not look the part so the G1 solid it is.
Cheers.
(As usual 303 case on the Rt for scale)

Abzeichen Fur Blockadebrecher - Schwerin Type 4.04 Variation 4

Recently purchased this zinc Schwerin type 4.04 "Dishback" Blockade Runners award from our friend Leon.

This zinc version used the same die as the tombak 4.02 version with the closer spaced maker mark. It has a short barrel hinge and flat bottomed Tombak wire catch.

It’s already been posted (see link below) but I thought it deserved to be shown again as it is such a beautiful award.

From the photos you can see in detail some of the casting "cavities"

Hope you enjoy it.

Another Mysterious Dagger??

Here is another dagger which seems to be quite mysterious in this field of collecting..The blade is hand forged and has the documentation however, what is it exactly?? I am always curious about these types of daggers. As the last dagger was determined to have been miss-matched with the saya, I wonder what is the case with this piece??? All comments welcome.Regards,Geoff111272511127261112727111272811127291112730111273211127331112734111273511127361112737
