Opinions on Hitler plaque/ bust..

Hello,
Anybody know what this would have came off of? I’m unsure of what metal it is, it’s very light weight like aluminum, tin, maybe sheet metal even, and non-magnetic. Also, it’s approx 8 by 10 inches. The 2nd picture shows the 2 hex nuts and screws. I’m assuming maybe there was a wooden plaque behind it, or possibly even could have been on a building? Don’t know. Anybody seen one like this? Thanks.

Salty Luftwaffe side cap by Carl Halfar

I’ve been considering this and compared it to the known good example, albeit an earlier black Lufty mechanics one, here:

http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/cloth-…halfar-356119/

I like the overall look of it and believe that the eagle and cap are good, but I can never tell with the cockade. They are all hand sewn on so you couldn’t guarantee it was period done either.

Hopefully I’ve learnt something and this will get a thumbs up, but as ever any opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Double etched panzer k98 dress bayonet(tiger) - Barn find?

Hey Guys,

During my visit to northern france last week I came across this bayonet. I immediately spotted the "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit" etching and after closer inspection I saw the tiger makers mark. On the other side the blade was rusted and I couldnt realy see through the rust under the lightning conditions.

Knowing nothing of these types of bayonets I decicded to buy it for the low pricetag it was given, in the knowledge that it might aswell be a faked bayonet.

After I got home I held the rusted side under some better lightning and I could see through the rust 2 skulls and in between the text "Panzer Regt, 7". After some googling I read that these aren’t often find and that the panzer versions are quite extraordinary.

Anyway, I decided to "unprofessionally" clean away some of the rust, below is the result. I expected to have removed more rust.

Even though it looks like to be a barn find of some sort(more rust is expected on ground dug items and the wood is just dryed out), only one side of the blade was more rusted(protected) than the other side, therefore and i’m not sure of it’s the real deal or not. I will just display it with my collection :)

What do you think?

Cheers!
David

Need help! Considering purchase, thoughts?

I am planning on purchasing my first NSG helmet, and have on this forum been advised to buy quality, not the cheapest items. I have checked the different sites which sell helmets for many weeks, and I think I found one which fits by criteria: Not too high price (this helmet is 700$), SD, with authentic liner, and no rust.

The seller is River Valley Militaria, a seller which I have been recommended, and the description reads: "M40 Luftwaffe helmet with a coating Luftwaffe paint carefully painted around the decal in a trapezoid pattern. I can’t make out the liner band date and the leather is worn"

What do you guys think, does the helmet look completely authentic? Is it worth the price?

Question Rzm

I have this pin. Cannot find it through researching to match the banners on either side of the death head. My honor is loyalty. Has the RZM stamp. A name. And numbers that are illegible. Can someone help?
