Need help! Authentication of SS Dagger- Bertram

Found while going through late relatives treasures. I don’t know the history how it was obtained but it has likely been sitting, untouched for at least 50 years.
Any comments or tell-tale signs regarding its authenticity and value are greatly appreciated. I’ve done some research and I can see that Bertram made daggers are pretty rare.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions of tell-tale signs of fakes/authentic daggers.

Early Pacific War casualty, KIA 8th December 1941.

Hi,

Just wanted to share some family history, my uncle Jack Lyons was serving as a ‘Messman’ onboard the M.V. Donerail sailing from Melbourne,
Australia, to Vancouver, British Columbia when they unfortunately crossed paths with the Japanese submarine I-10 near Truk, on the 8th of
December 1941 (some reports state the 9th because of the international date line). The submarine submerged (it was night time), and when
it re-surfaced, they shelled the Donerail, and she sank with some loss of life, my uncle was killed during the initial shelling, however the survivors
took to the lifeboats, and then suffered a very long stint adrift on the open sea before coming ashore on an island in the Truck region and were
interned by the Japanese until the end of the war.

Uncle Jack left the Australian Merchant Navy, which he joined in 1939, to then join the US Merchant Navy for the trip on the Donerail, which turned
out to be unfortunately his last trip, he was just short of his 21st birthday when he was killed.

Post-war, his mother was given the US Merchant Marine Medal for his sacrifice, and I have mounted the medal with his Australian Merchant Navy awards,
so I thought I would share some images of an often overlooked part of the war, namely those that served in the Merchant Navies of the world….

-Bob

White Himmler collartabs

I’ve found these three interesting pictures from Hitler, Hess, Himmler, Goebles and other high ranking nazi’s listening to a concert.

I thought to open an interesting topic here regarding Himmler’s collertabs that are visible on the three pictures.
He is wearing white collartabs!!! Never ever saw pics of him wearing such tabs. Someone here can explane please cause this is totally new for me. Thanks.

Plane tree type 2 helmet cover

I took a gamble and purchased a relic SS helmet cover ($200) and am respectfully requesting an answer to my main question please?

First, i know these covers are mostly fake so this will either be one of those "holy crap!!" or the typical "oh well, I learned a lot about something" moments….either way I am not out a lot of money and i learn so much from your forums. Thank you. I SINCERELY appreciate your dedication and time given to us Rookie collectors.

Realizing it is possible that fake cover manufacturers use this website to perfect their craft, I was wondering if i should post every detail I found on this cover. I ask this because there are some very interesting characteristics that I have not been able to find mentioned in this forum (maybe i am overlooking them) or other forums which peaks my curiosity. IF the cover is real, i don’t want to inadvertently post those trade secrets of an authentic helmet that are held close to the chest and make the fake helmets even more believable…. IF, this helmet is fake, I am very impressed with the forgery efforts, talent, and insight to make $200.

Please direct me on how to proceed…Thank you for your time!!!
