Bought from vets son,I wouldnt have sold it if it were my dads, wow! but he said he had no interest in firearms, worked for me.His dad was an officer in the Navy.Any opinions are welcome, had this rig over 15 years.
This buckle is what is commonly recognized as a un- marked Dransfeld & Co., Menden / W.
So that being said this tabbed example could provide a clue to the makers habits.
Lets’ turn the clock back from 1939 to 1936 and see what transpires..
The early Dransfeld seems to have a maker mark D & C with a 36 year, so is there any explanation why this was done in the early stages or perhaps a subbed out contract after 1936 or later / and the MM was phased out ? The prongs are similar but to be certain do any members have a idea why ? The shortness of the tab is consistent imo.. Any replies are welcome
