Hey guys
I just got back from metal detecting at a local fort. I found this thing. Its pretty massive and the outer diameter is 72mm. Does anyone know what it is?
Im from Bulgaria and most of the relics i find are german because Germany supplied us during the wars.IMG_1804.jpgIMG_1805.jpgIMG_1809.jpg

What are your thoughts on this Skull?
The jaw and teeth look wrong when comparing it.

I do know there are not a lot of these kicking around in private collections yet and there does seem to be a fair bit of interest in regards to the new Vitrus/Cobra Batlskin helmet system as produced by Revision so I thought I might share my example here that I recently acquired as part of a trade …
This particular helmet was produced on 20/1/16 and is in a large size and in slightly used condition and was issued to a soldier serving with the Coldstream Guards upon handling this example a few things come to ones immediate attention…
1st most is that they are very light weight and would appear to be very well made.
2nd is the new dial in quick adjustment liner system as can be seen in the images the adjuster can be found at the back of the helmet body I have heard early reports back from serving paras that they are not to keen on this particular facet of the new design and could make for an uncomfortable reverse landing if one happens to hit there head it will be interesting to see how they stand up to the riggers of service in the field..
The NVG/goggle attachment as found on the front of the helmet body seems to be sturdy enough in design but the clip in cover IMO will likely be problematic as it can be removed far to easy with just gentle pressure from ones fingers and I think there is a good possibility this will be a heavily replaced item…

After all of this recent talk about metal SS runes, I thought I would post pics of another pair in my collection. I got this pair from a very well known ebayer. I won an auction a few months back for two SS camo helmet clips for only $3. When I opened the package I was VERY surprised of the contents. Along with the helmet clips, was this pair of metal runes! I instantly messaged the seller, and asked him a few things. #1 did you mean to send these? #2 are these real? #3 if real where did you find them? What he told me- "Yes I meant to send these. These tabs are original, and were found by me in a bunker near the SS Norge battle. (Norway border)" So what do you guys think? I know these look really clean, but I’ve dealt with this seller many times. They appear to be made from discarded flare cartridges. Also you can see some caked on dirt on one of the attachment prongs. I guess I’m just a magnet for these LoL
