Request help with sword

Hello,

Just thought I’d post a Type 32 cavalry sword that I picked up a few years ago. It’s in good shape (except for the dent in the scabbard and missing leather finger loop) with matching numbers. Many of the examples that I have seen have a dent in the scabbard in about the same spot as mine…..any ideas as to why? Could it have to do with being used by a mounted troop?

If anyone could help with translation of the marks on the hand guard, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Tom

Remembrance-shermantank for Polish liberation replaced at Tielt!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYFfLCmsBLk

In Tielt is the sherman that is placed for the liberation-remembrance, replaced on another location; in fact on the other side of the square.
it had to take place, to build new infrastructure on the side where the tank stands previously.
The official inauguration will take place on 11th November. I hope that the correct markings will be placed to that date;
i see that the tank is refubrished with a new layer of paint (since my last visit);
also is the new place historical correct, because on the new place- will the barrel from the sherman point to Ruiselede (’petit chambois’ as named by Polish veterans), the way the black devils followed—> Tielt-Ruiselede. On his old place; he pointed the other side..

Apologize for the bad quality of the clip, but at this moment i do not find a better one..
Kind regards, Pieter.

Question Vet bring back M35 possible Kriegsmarine

A good Friend of mine Just scooped up this beautiful M35 vet bring back helmet. Its liner pins are not loose what so ever, overall the paint looks great, and it exhibits that nice honest aged look. The friend of mine who bought this helmet has a few questions though, and he isn’t a forum member. So for this post I will tell you guys the questions he asked me, that I couldn’t answer. Hopefully some one can shed some light on this. Question#1- Is this partial decal a kriegsmarine, or just an aged Wehrmacht? Question#2- Whats up with the batch number? This helmet is a Q64, but the batch number is odd. This is what I see "DN116" Ive never seen letters in a batch number before, is this common?
I will try to post better pics of this helmet tomorrow. Please let me know any info you may have on this helmet.

Best regards- Jarret
