Help with kanji, please

Was hoping I could get some clarification on this kanji: 火工

I found it in a techou within the specialty bracket and unfortunately I am away from my dictionaries. On the surface, "fire engineer" is the translation, but obviously something more nuanced than just that. Is the designation for a flame thrower operator? Something else entirely? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

Veteran Obtained Steel Luftwaffe Buckle and Tab

Hello,
Here is a veteran obtained steel Luftwaffe buckle with leather tab. It was captured in Italy along with a Luftwaffe boot knife and several pieces of insignia (breast eagle and cloth FJ badge). I have always wondered if the buckle belonged to the same man who had the FJ badge. Regardless, it’s still a nice buckle.

Regards,
Jody

Need help! Blockade type Ssh-36?

Hi all- so I have spent the past hour or so going through each and every forum post I can find of blockade-relined Ssh36’s and I can’t seem to find any with this type of liner. Also, I have never seen a blockade Ssh36 with that thick of top rivets. To add to this, I have also never seen an Ssh36 ‘blokadnik’ with 2 sets of rivets. All of this being said, I am a bit skeptical about this helmet, but at the same time, I think it could be real. I would like to hear what you guys have to say.

I also hope that Dimas or anyone else who has had more experience and knowledge than I have in Blockade Ssh-36’s has something to say about this helmet :p cool militaria

Hello!

Hi there!

I stumbled across this website when trying to research my grandfather’s involvement in WW2 and I’m glad I did!

Researching and learning about my family’s involvement in both wars has become a small hobby of mine and there’s a lot that I still don’t know, so I’m hoping to find answers here!

I’m particularly interested in Polish and Romanian involvement in both wars.

Thanks!

Need help! Ss visor cap

Saw this allgemeine ss visor cap on an auction site, they listed it as an original visor cap with reproduction eagle and cap. To me the cap seems fake but I’d like some advice from experts in collecting ss headgear. From what I know the auction house itself is very reputable and would not sell reproductions as originals.
