Fiber helmet pair help.

Hello everyone.
I picked up these two helmets and a unit box over the weekend. They aren’t related but were in the same antique shop.
I know the helmets are fiber helmets but they have zero markings and an odd vent hole pattern compared to others I have seen. One appears to have a tan paint covering and the other a cloth covering.
Both have "paper" liners and the cloth covered helmet also has a cotton, non adjustable chinstrap riveted to a vent hole.
Are these U.S. helmets or another ally? WW2 era or something modern?
Any help is appreciated.

Modified M16A1s

In Vietnam, some US and ARVN troops found the 20 round magazine of their M16A1 lacking in capacity. And while 30 round magazines were distributed to some units (particularly SF forces) in the latter stages of the war, and if I recall correctly, were available for purchase in a PX, some chose a different route. AK magazines would be taken from enemy supply dumps or dead, and modified to accept 5.56, as was the M16A1 modified to accept the magazine. I am hoping to start a thread showing pictures and/or examples of these modified M16A1s, as well as any other modification that may be of interest.

Approve me new user says hello!

Hello, my name is Robert and I have been collecting military helmets dating from WW1 to present day. Also have branched out to hats, field gear, and uniform tunics from the same time. It started with my fathers WW2 Mk.II talker helmet from the USS Fessenden and has grown to over 130. It has become an addiction, and I love it!:D
