Hello all from Mexico! My name is Rafael. I became a collector of a lot of stuff last year, among that stuff is militaria. I’m mostly interested in soviet stuff and stuff from the third reich. Wanted to join the forum because of the knowledge that i have seen in the forum.

Also wanted to start my time in the forum by asking if someone ever thought you were a Nazi or whatever for collecting militaria or memorabilia. My room has a lot of soviet stuff and it probably looks like I’m a communist even though that is not the case

My parents are totally ok with the soviet stuff in my room, but i wouldn’t want to display my few german (with swastikas) things because i don’t know how would they react.

Anyway, this looks like a great and interesting forum. And i hope to learn more from it.

I made another Mannequin display, The tunic is from Wein(Vienna), nicely sized marked on the inside, and has a medical patch on the sleeve, The proper Tschako really makes it stand out in the crowd, I still need a knot for the bayo, and I know the Gorget is not proper for municiple police but I decided to display it just because it looks good. If you have any comments, input or added information on the tunic it would be appreciated, hope you enjoy the photo’s! it was alot of fun putting it all together!

Hello friends! I just purchased the helmet below as some type of civil or auxilliary service helmet. Jim confirmed it is wartime. Once I received it, I found a stamp on the inside of one of the liner tongues. I realize it is almost impossible to read, but was hoping maybe someone recognizes the overall appearance? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!!

I am no-where near an expert on these M1’s so opinions would be great.

It reportedly came from Indonesia but I bought it for its character. The liner was rusted in and took a little careful persuasion to remove it with no harm done. The orange rust would clean off if I tried. I can’t find any reference to the markings on the inside of the liner. The helmet also has a mark in a chalky stamp. Is it a Euro clone ?
