Identify Frog species

Here’s a brown bayonet frog I have, I’d be interested in comments. It came with a S84/98 bayonet, but is it really for a S98/05 or even a Police sidearm?
Nicely maker marked, "VEREIN. LUDERW.FBK G.m.b.H EUGENHUBER MUNCHEN 1928", so Weimar period, very fine quality leather, fine stitches suggest a "dress frog". It has a slot cut into the right side perhaps for a troddel. Luftwaffe or Police?

The last two photos are next to a S84/98 frog made by KVZ in 1943. Notice the brown frog could hold a wider scabbard.

Japanese Rear Ammo Pouch Missing Oiler

I just acquired a rear ammo pouch that has had the oiler pouch straps cut off, bummer. :( I could not find any markings on the inside of the lid so I am unable to determine year of manufacture or maker. My question is; Is it worth trying to restore the oiler straps or not? It would be nice to have a complete pouch. I do not run across spare oilers though but there may be one out there. The rest of it is in nice condition. All opinions are appreciated.
John

Wire Helmet on Facebook

This is not a troll post.

I would think that most of you know me better after all these years and that I would never like to start any trouble, anywhere.

In any case:

I asked about this helmet on a Facebook page that I subscribe to, and my question seemed to have been ignored.

German Helmets of the Second World War Public Group | Facebook

It seems to me that the wire basket embellishment on this helmet has not been, well, "an embellishment" for seventy plus years. Or has it?

I’m just curious to know.

Thanks gents.

Cheers,
Richie

SA Sturmführer Uniform - Gruppe Hochland (?)

Hello all once again.

I now present to you an ensemble recently purchased from my friends at The Collector’s Guild. This uniform is, for the most part, authentic, though there are some discrepancies. The edelweiss, I’m told, may not be correct for this uniform, and that the sewn-on shoulder boards may similarly be restored. All-in-all, I’m quite satisfied. If anyone notices something perhaps inaccurate or may desire to see something corrected/augmented, I will be sure to look into it. Many thanks.

The One (or more) That Got Away.

I figured that because I really do enjoy hearing people’s stories, unless they are complete BS, some interesting stories could be shared around this topic.

In they time you have been collecting, what pieces slipped through your fingers? Not just ones that you maybe had to sell or trade, but ones you really wanted that when you went to buy them, alas, you had been bested by someone faster.

The second scenario is almost constant in this digital morass. If you don’t act quickly in many cases, you are too late.

What about your experiences?
Please, share away!

M16 Stalhelm Worth it? Camo

Hello everyone,

I’ve been busy lately hunting down those mortar shells and "Chinese Welcome Flags" on Facebook Marketplace and think I’ve found another oddity. This appears to have had some camo paint at some point, but I’m no expert. It’s rough. Seller is asking $175. What do you folks think? Any ideas on the authenticity of the camo that appears to be there (may very well not be). Thanks so much everyone and best wishes! 1203367

1914 Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse - unmarked Deumer

This is the latest addition to my Imperial Eisernes Kreuz Collection. It is unmarked however it was sold as and does appear to be a Deumer made cross when compared to others on the forum. The photographs were taken today in bright sunshine to give it as much natural light as possible. It sure has brought out the detail and the great condition this cross is in.
I just can’t get enough of these EK’s and the addiction continues to grow.

Wilko :D
