Expensive Kratzchen!

If someone would be kind enough to provide a link, Ebay item # 202226226392, which appears to be for Dragoon Regt. nr.26.
It went for $ 1,137.77, with 40 bids. 17 bids were entered by one bidder ( not the winner), which sure looks like shill bidding to me.

Fortunes Of War Militaria Site Update: 2-19-2018

Greetings from Fortunes Of War Militaria! Today I made an addition to the "One-Thousand Stitch Belt" category with a senninbari with large rising sun motif across both the front, and back. I also added a colorful Senninbari vest to the "One-Thousand Stitch Vest" category of the website. Both items are quite interesting and unique!

Civil Defence Tunic

Hello folks.

Here’s something I’ve been after for a very long time. These are extremely hard pieces of Home Front kit to find, and so I’m ecstatic to finally have one. A Civil Defence warden’s tunic, 57a Pattern, with the ‘a’ indicating austerity. Dated 1942, with a label indicating it was tailored by Rego Clothiers Ltd. This appears to have belonged to a senior warden, going on the rank stripes beneath the shoulder titles. I’d therefore guess that this would be worn with a white helmet, rather than the basic level black ones?

There are five War Service chevrons on the right sleeve. All buttons and fitments are present and accounted for, with only a couple of light moth nibbles. A bit of light wear and tear, indicating that this tunic saw some use. 1942 puts it well past the hard days and nights of the Blitz, but it’s a wartime tunic, and one I’m very happy to have.

Regards, B.B.

Three Piece Luftschutz Factory Police - Heinrich Lanz AG - Mannheim

Pulled this one out this morning - I really like these Factory Police helmets. The tag describes the piece. Hope you like it. Jim G.

Need help! M40 Unique Wired Hemet-Wired visor

A few doozies have come up on the other forum. Simply just looking for any info on this one. Seeing if anyone has opinions on what appears to be some sort of wire visor. Is this a fantasy set up someone created years ago? Was it common for Forward Observer positions? whats its purpose? Is it even genuine?
