Question 2 US Overseas Caps

I’ve never done much research into overseas caps, but I found this pair for $10 online and decided to jump on it. I believe they belonged to the same soldier as the laundry numbers match inside both caps. I’m not sure about this, but there are 2 holes on the green cap; I’m guessing there could have been rank insignia pinned to that cap? That cap also retains it’s tag and is 1941 dated. I have no idea what the value of these are but for $10 I’m happy with them cool militaria

Need help! EGYPT Feather Bonnet - Gordon Highlanders?

I am new to this forum, and have been reading through threads. I see there are fine, knowledgeable collectors here.

My question …

I’ve acquired this Scottish feather bonnet, with a lovely "EGYPT" emblem on the front. My knowledge of these bonnets is next to nothing, so I’ve been trying to do some research. From what I can make out it MAY be from a WWI-era campaign, or possibly from the 1880s. I’m seeing information about an Egyptian Rebellion, perhaps an association with Gordon Highlanders … and that this may be a military band member’s headgear rather than a soldier’s.

OK, I know you’re all rolling your eyes by now! Can anyone kindly straighten me out about what this really is?

MUCH APPRECIATED!

identification M84 stamp on a k98 bayonet ??

Hi

Does anyone have an idea why there is an M 84 stamp on my k98 bayonet.
my first idea was that it was done after the war.
but the stamps are also on the inside.
on the wooden grips.
I think it’s original. but I’ve never seen it before.116937711693781169379
for the rest there are no weird stamps. or other things .
the only link I can make is that it is a reference to the M84 / 98 bayonet official name.
Does has anyone seen this before ??

Britsh Civil Defence Corps - Welfare armband

Guys,

At a local show today. Saw this in a box full of junk and picked it up for a few dollars.

Not sure what era it is from. There are no marking on it other than "Paris" who is the maker of the buckle. I think it is the "Queens" Crown so probably 50’s?

Anyway, these are not my thing so if there are any paying members out there that want this I’ll be happy to pass it on for free. Just send me a PM.

Please tell me about your banner / flag edges

I brought this up in another thread for authenticating, but I think it would be helpful in general for us to know the frequency that that unadorned flag / banner edges are seamed / hemmed.

My example has stitched short edges (for hanging and probably resisting being wind whipped), but the long edges are left unstitched. There are rows of fine holes where the cloth was probably wound onto a bolt during fabrication. I have pictures of this in my other thread, but I don’t think they are necessary for these purposes.

Could you please take a look at your banners and flags and please post a description of the edges, particularly the long edges?

I think this would add to the general body of knowledge of authentic items.

THANKS!
