Need help! M40 Helmet marking and texturing
Hello friends!
I recently bought an M40 helmet shell in good condition for 25 euro (30 dollars). It was already painted, I really hope the guy painting it wasnt serious. You can see markings inside the skirt, first is hard to read on the photo, but it seems to be 22401. The other marking ,however, isnt readable. When I saw it for the first time i thought its SE64, because I was told its an 64 size helmet. I tried measuring it, but it seems i do it incorrectly, because it turned out to be 65 cm
Then i saw a photo on the internet - the differences between manufacturing in various factories. My ventil is not in the center so it can be ET or Q. Ive never heard of those differences so I´d like to ask if someone knows who manufactured it.

I stripped off the paint with weak chemicals so wouldnt damage the original paint if some was there. Only little bit of original paint was left on the outside. I decided to re-paint it, because some parts are stripped to bare metal. However i was thinking about using filler. (I dont want it to look like it just came from a factory) but to use it only where big holes are. Then, paint it and texture it. A friend of mine has some feldgrau paint left in a spray can, so I would use it. However I would like to ask if i should use alumunium oxide or saw dust. Ive read thet the SE used aluminium oxide a lot.

Question SS Paratrooper Helmet

I was hoping you guys could help me on the authenticity of this SS Paratrooper Helmet I currently own. Comparing it to other helmets in images it looks authentic except it is missing the eagle on the left side of the helmet. I’m not overly concerned if it does turn out to be a replica as I’m not trying to sell it!
PS I apologise for all my pictures being in the wrong orientation, they are all portrait on my laptop, but once I upload them they rotate to the side

I recently took a bit of a gamble and purchased this EK1 at a local gun show. The maker mark and pin seemed to match up on a quick internet search. So I bought it on the spot and according to my reference book everything seemed to be right. Hopefully I bought a genuine article. I will appreciate any help on verification that it is is real.
