I am really excited to show you this german gasmask I recieved recently from my uncle who lives in my grandmothers parents house in The Netherlands but near Aachen Germany.
The story is: while US forces are liberating the south of the netherlands in september ‘44 2 austrian soldiers asked my grand grand dad if they can take shelter in the basement of the house till the US army pick them up. This happened and apparentely this gasmask is the only item survived in almost mint condition. This item is 100% unaltered and really amazing it’s part of my family. This is what stayed behind hope you enjoy.
Cheers
I have picked up a number of 18 pdr shell cases and rounds, I am in the process of restoring them.
Is there a website or some documentation you can point me towards, I would like to try and identify the maker markings on the shell cases I have , I do find it quite interesting, examining the markings
Cheers in advance cool militaria
Not rare but a harder to find maker.
It is a massive design but very high quality even though most it is likely a Mid-Late war design given it’s zinc construction.
Carl Wild of Hamburg is classified as an Independent manufacture and it is my understanding that this award is a Type 7.03 (Weber).
From what I can tell it has the first type hinge fitting (the raised base).
According to an old post from our friend Fisher it is a Design Type - Die 1 as the 1R leaf of the Die 1 has a more pronounced top, left vein branching off the center vein and it has an additional vein in the 1L leaf. The maker mark is wider across and has smaller gap between the C and W.
Would love to hear your thoughts
1. Are they authentic, fake, reproductions?
2. Time period?
3. Value?
4. Can I sell the NS Meyer cards seperate to collectors for their real pin? And I sell the unmarked pins seperately?
Any and all advice and information would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
