40 year wait: Heer Einheitsfeldmmutze

Hi Guys, I have collected for over 40 years now and could never find a good Heer enlisted mans Einheitsfeldmmutze for my collection that I could afford or like.

Well finally this year my wait is over and I now have two. Good examples of these caps are hard to find. Hence my wait!

I have taken a series of photos of this one, so that members can see how they are made and how they wear in service.

The machine woven "Bevo" trapezoid insignia is originally hand sewn to the cap and is perhaps not the neatest job in the world.

Points to note:

1) The wool. These caps were made from shoddy recycled wool. The quality of today’s fakes cannot replicate the quality (or lack of) of this material. Earlier caps are slightly better quality than the ones made in late 1944 or early 1945.

2) The reinforcement bias under the turn up flap.

3) Overall construction. Study how the seams are done and how the buttons etc are sewn.

Cheers, Ade.

Unknown Flag Pole Top

Picked this up recently. Didn’t look American in origin, however I may have been fooled. Any thoughts on the origin of this piece? 1145521114552211455231145524

Panzerkampfabzeichen silber original or fake?

Hi guys, just recently acquired this panzer assault badge, and was wondering if I could get your thoughts on it whether it is real or not. Its marked FLL 43, and had some slight concerns on its originality, primarily concerned with details on the treads and machine gun port. Thanks

My Christmas Bukosho

I only gamble on militaria. Sometimes I win. I’ve always wanted one since I was a kid! One of the rarest & valuable army badges! Here’s an eBay auction https://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-JAPANE…vip=true&rt=nc Seller doesn’t deal in military & he predominantly sells jewelry. He told me badge came from family of vet with estate jewelry. Here are quick photos I took of my 2nd class badge.
