Japanese Army Dogs

I love this hobby and I also love dogs so naturally I fell into the groove of collecting photos of Japanese war dogs. Here are some I’ve come up with but my "holy grail" in this area of collecting is to find an original message collar. I did find a US war dog message collar but I’m still looking for a Japanese example. I only have the photos at the end of this to go by on what they look like.

A Special National Defense Medal.

I am sharing an American National Defense medal. It looks to have been made in May of 2016. I recently bought a new one and it had two clutch pins for attachment. This has a normal style pin clasp. Not sure why the difference, but this one was sent by the Army.
Why it is special, to my family, is that my wife’s father enlisted in the Army in 1964 and served until receiving an honorable discharge in 1966. He served during Vietnam, but not in Vietnam.
He passed away last March.
I had gotten his DD-214 from the Veterans Administration because we wanted to see if he was eligible for military honors. He was proud of his service and we wanted it to be a part of his ceremony.
I noticed that under his awards and citations, there was nothing listed other than his marksmanship award.
I filed to have his record corrected to get him the National Defense medal he deserved, unfortunately posthumously and 51 years late.
It arrived a couple days ago and this is it. It is in it’s wrapper where it will remain, untouched.
Thank you for reading, and looking.

KvK 2 with and without swords

Recently acquired these kvk’s allegedly from the Deschler hoard. The rings are stamped with ‘1′.
What worries me is the quality of the ribbons and that the envelopes are two different shades, and the printing looks different. Anyone care to weigh in?

A very good video I found.

So, recently I acquired my first helmet. It is an M34 civil helmet that I didn’t pay a ton for but it is in really nice shape.
That got me looking more into the wear of the helmet and just how the fire uniforms were put together in general. In looking around the interwebs, I came across this video which I like very much. It is period video of the volunteer firemen in Barkhausen in 1936. It looks to be some kind of demonstration. There is no sound unfortunately, or maybe not so unfortunately. Interesting to see the chief with his white(?) helmet.

Good Luck Flag

My other Good Luck Flag, purchased shortly before the one with the charms. This one looks named to me as I can see the family name Arai in the vertical string on the right (with the help of jisho.org!). Is there anything else of particular interest? What do the 2 big characters at the top represent?
Cheers,
Tony

M35 Heer helmet

Looking at this M35 helmet.

I like the looks of the helmet, though the decal seems to be in a better shape then the finish of the rest of the helmet.
What do you guys think?

I have two problems with the pictures though, for one the chin strap needs to be let go so it won’t be ripped off, second why can’t people take their pictures outside in daylight?..

Thanks for your opinions in advance.

Need help! SS Honor Ring, worth a look?

I came across this SS Honor Ring for sale the other day. Since I have no experience with any SS rings and since there are so few in rotations I would just like to hear your opinions on it.

I won’t even dare to say if it looks even close to a real one or not due to the condition but I thought it was worth bringing the pictures to you guys. I won’t be able to get better photos since I’ve already asked her to take better pictures and these were the once I got

PS; Might have posted this thread in the wrong section, I apologize for that.
