Here’s an interesting example…Looks very much like the US Style Can Opener that was issued with the Field Rations…I don’t know which one came first - The US or the German Product-…
Known as the "EXAKT", "Allein Hersteller" means "Sole Manufacturer"…
cheers, Glenn
My first foray into the world of Soldbuchs and this one caught my eye as it is for a Gendamerie who served in the first war and saw action at Tannenburg and The Somme to name but a few.
However, the Soldbuch doesn’t look like the other TR era books I have seen. I thought it might be a document that he had for a while ie WW1 / Weimar period and kept it throughout his service but there are only Third Reich era markings/stamps in it.
I would very much appreciate any help you could give as on the face of it, this is quite an interesting piece to me.
i have been looking at this old ss helmet it is FOUNDED IN COURLAND POCKET.Digged some time ago.do you think it is a good one as i am thinking of buying it.i like the has been there in the war look..thank you..
I have been looking for an M34 Edelstahl double decal SS SD helmet in good shape for years - no - decades. My buddy is liquidating his extensive collection and offered this gem to me with, as Michael Corleone said, an offer I couldn’t refuse. I actually was holding out over the years for a reverse decal example as I real go crazy over reverse decal helmets, but I also really dig helmets with set back decals. I picked it up earlier today. This one is an 4 rivet (far more common than the 3 rivet examples) Edelstahl (improved steel) M34 shell with bulged vents, complete with the expected civil style leather liner, initialed 3 times by the soldat, a rough but complete carbine clip chinstrap, and really well preserved Pocher SS and Party Shield decals, set back behind the vents rather than beneath them. The paint is better than 95% intact, as are the decals. I have a few SS helmets, but none in as good shape as this one. For me this one was worth the wait. Hope you like it. Jim G.
