Captain’s Tunic, Canadian 72nd Regiment (Seaforth Highlanders)

Hello all!

I picked this up yesterday delivered straight from the Collector’s Guild. It’s a wicked nice piece, and named as well. CG provided a narrative of the previous owner of this tunic: "Of Note: Lieutenant W.J. Decker of "C" company, blocked " the trenches leading into his front line by burying a German "stick" bomb in either wall of the trench and connecting the igniter buttons by means of a string stretched tautly above the floor of the trench. About midnight, the German bombers began working up the trenches leading into "C" Company s front, relying, no doubt, upon surprising the defenders and overcoming their resistance by a swift night attack. Straight into the traps set for them the astute Boches crept. Only with the stunning detonations of the bombs right amongst them did they realize their fatal error, with the result that the attack, thrown into confusion, failed to reach our lines, although a severe bombing fight took place all along the left flank."

A. Raven & Co. Ltd. Jacket

Hi,

I recently bought a jacket made by A. Raven in a vintage sale. All I could find out about this company is, that it apparently manufactured clothes during WW2. Google isn’t really helpful in finding any information if the company still exists. The jacket I bought looks more like a factory/working jacket/smock and way too new to be from WW2 ( or I made an incredible bargain ) maybe you guys can help to to find out what kind of jacket this is.
