Soviet Banner TagMet

Hello everyone, just showing off this Soviet banner I found, looking at the Soviet crest it would seem to be from around 1940-1946 and belonged to the Taganrog Metallurgical Technical School. As I am new to the banner collecting business, I would like to know more about Soviet banners and more specifically the organisation in terms of production of these banners made specially for official establishments. Thanks :)

Well I am still here,,just a bit worn

Again, as you know I have not been posting a lot here…and I see my Green bars are almost gone!!!, However as I mentioned awhile ago, I went through a bad spell of health, noit crying about it thats life for an old Soldier..however I been doing some stuff as I am feeling a lot better and have the strength to do I WILL be at the 100th Anny of the Canadians Taking Passchedeale ( or however it is spelled) on Nov 10th and at the Menin Gate on the 11th Nov, then off for another week just travling around and meeting friend..however i have been busy here.
I do living History with the 4CMRA group, check us out on facebook… last Saturday was the any of the Dei11044391104440110444111044421104443ppe Raid, in Canada for 96 years we have had Warriors Day Parade into the the CNE, I will not explain that look it up if you care too…however this year we were 3rd in line at the Beginning, Horses first, then a Grand Marshal then myself driving and out Chairman in the sidecar.

I was so very proud that when we past the Officels Place I was named as a Veteran and I was only a Medic for 10 years, but here a a few photos, we have a multi-cultural Parade..one photos shows myself looking tired and waiting for the parade to start, others speak for themselves, but 2 show the gift I was given for doing this…not everyone got them!!!

Heeres Kleiderkasse, info Please.

Hello friends,
inside a revision of the Heeres-Kleiderkasse catalog dated october 1937 i noticed the lacking of clothing on sale unlike what i thought; it’s present only the several types of cloths for tailors and nothing talk about the selling of Feldbluse or trousers ready to use… What was the right procedure that an officer had to do to buy a ‘ready to use’ tunic, trousers or mantel?

Missing part from SA dagger.

Hi, Im sorry if this is in the wrong section, please advise if so. Thank you. I recently bought this SA dagger, and as you can see the small circular ‘SA’ logo part is missing. Is it possible to buy this from anywhere as it rather ruins the look slightly? If so can anyone give me a pointer? If not, is it possible (as a last resort) to buy a replica of this piece? Thanks for any advice. Kind Regards. Francis.

Shell casing curiosity

Hi All. I recently dug up a couple of these shell casings. This one pictured is the better example of the 2. What strikes me as odd is that it (the casing) appears to have somehow created a vacuum within itself. The firing cap appears to be intact, but if you look at the shell it has been totally ’sucked in’ !!. Rather like a plastic wrap when a vacuum is applied around fruit, vegetables etc in supermarket packaging. The brass has only light cracking in it and as you can see it is completely drawn in around the tube up the middle as well. Im pretty impressed with it myself, but even more…..I would love to know how this has occurred. It doesn’t appear to have been in a fire. Incidentally, can someone inform me of the correct name/term for the tube running up the inside centre of the shell? I look forward to any insight regarding this. Kind regards, Francis

Need help! Real or fake: Bronze Sportabzeichen badge & SA Treffen Braunschweig 1931 rally badge

Hi all,

This is my first post so please be gentle;)

I bought these two badges and I wonder are they real or fakes. Based on my research at this site, I have suspicion that they might be fake. As I am relatively new on collecting, I would appreciate experts help on this!

WW1 British Pith helmet question

Hi Forum,

I have recently acquired a WW1 era British pith helmet, not something I would normally collect but it was a gift. sAdly it is not in the best condition and the brim is missing a piece of cork. Is it worth trying to repair, has anyone tried before or should I leave it as is?

Can post pictures later if required.
