M40 Q62 Named Camo SD Heer Juttner Decal

Here is a locally sourced Q62 Lot # DN 148. single decal Heer Camo. A real "one-look" camo.

Liner is dry with some torn tongues. Zinc liner band is dated 1940, Schuberth Werk 62/55n.A.

No doubt this is a hard combat used lid. Post war storage didn’t help much either as the exterior shell has minor surface rust. Oddly there are some stacking rings as well.

So she’s no beauty queen but she has some nice qualities that I like very much.

First is a very unique camo pattern. Don’t know what to call it, but for lack of a better word, it is like a reverse turtle pattern. Besides the tan, in certain light I think I can make out the remnants of green as well.

Second, it is named

Finally, it has a very unique decal to shell combination that is sometimes seen on 1940-41 dated Q M40 helmets. The decal is an August Juttner ET style. The lot # is close to DN146 that also has the same style decal (based on an online database). This anomaly is also referenced in Ken N’s Helmet Decal book.

Enjoy.

Michael

Bronze Panzer Assault, real or fake?

First, many thanks to those members who have helped ID some badges in my collection as to whether real or reproduction. I have a fairly large collection, and have always had a few pieces I wasn’t quite sure about. It’s nice to get some non-partisan input on them! Here is another I’m not sure about. I feel it’s an old copy, but would like some other opinions. 1073454107345510734561073457

SA- Kepi / Schaftmütze “Gruppe Franken”

This time i wanna show you a sweet lil´item that just flew in…

it´s a SA- Gruppe Franken "Coffee Can" Mütze.

Classic NSDAP -brown with a yellow (Felt ?-) top, correspondint to the "Franken"- region , that has several small moth -bites. But well, its age, and Time is the Master.

It is supposed to be a "M1929 type" -kepi , with an "old style" - Reichsadler and a darkened gold button. The brown leather sweatband is partially detached. No labels or such inside.

Inside the capis the Stormtroopers name, " Wüst" (that´s "UGLY" in german :shok_yikes:, a latin number "VII", and a stamp that reads "8", guess that´s the size.

i have read and studied all i could before buying this cap, and finally i went for it. I must say that i have not seen a picture of that "flap- design", but as there where many manufacturers and many styles, i decided to take the risk.

The Cap, aging & moth- damage, Sturmband (Chinstrap) and all the rest looked ok to me, even thou i am far of being an expert. I got this one from the WRF- forum classifieds, which also gave me confidence.

The Reichsadler looks quite old, even thou i haven´t seen that kind of beak before, but again, my knowledge on them is rather limited and again, there where many manufacturers with many styles.. Hope really this one is good. The fels is all eaten away by moths underneath the Eagle. Bon Appetite !!!

And after all, there are not many of them around, the SA is historically speaking very important, and finally - i could afford it, which is not the case with SS- Caps, who reach astronomical prices..

However, i wanted to show / share that kepi here, and as always, any opinions are very welcome

Leaving feedback after a transaction in the Classifieds section?

Hi,

I just sold my very first piece on WarRelics’ classifieds. :) The experience was great and I am very grateful for the website’s admins for allowing us to post ads for free.

The buyer asked if there was any way to leave feedback, and while I have looked around, I have not found any place where this can be done.

Am I missing something? Is there any way for the buyer to leave me feedback for future buyers to see?

Thank you very much!

Reich

Need help! German miner helmet?

Hello Guys!

I bought this helmet last week. I tried to find a similar, but I had no success. It looks like a McDonald safety helmet, but it’s german/austrian.
Could you help me to identify? It’s most likely post war. Markings: CB M, Al Cu Mg F.39, DIN1725
Sorry for the wrong category!

Thank you!
